Hi there! I’m hoping you are having a nice summer. As you have noticed, I haven’t been around here in a while. Life happens and many times for the sake of spiritual growth and family betterment, we have to prioritize, cutting out some of our time consuming activities. I’m planning and praying, and if it is God’s will, I will continue to write, share and maintain Homeschool Epiphany.
I was given the opportunity to review this beautiful devotional for women by Florida Hospital Publishing, which is dedicated in offering a treasure of books & training materials “designed to give you the information & inspiration you need to live your best life now”.
Creation Health, Devotional for Women is an extension of a healthy lifestyle program and series created by a team of health care visionaries. This team chose to use the word CREATION as an acronym that summarizes the 8 principles of whole-person health, which is the basis that Florida Hospital defines the care of their patients’ mind, body, and spirit. Visit the CREATION Health website to learn more.
The book itself is small (7.1 X 5.7) compared to the traditional devotional. It is hardback, containing 240 pages of calming full-color and beautiful flowery illustrations, gentle to the eyes, hence making it enjoyable to read. A nice addition is that this devotional is also available in Kindle format. It is available for purchase through Amazon or Florida Hospital Publishing.
The devotional is based on the healthy living aspect from the perspective of mind, body, and spirit. It is written as a collection of 56 heart-warming stories by several female authors, many involved in health care. It is not the typical daily devotional marked by dates. Since there are 56 stories/devotions, they could easily be read one or two a week. You can dwell in one story for the entire week, or read as many as you wish. The stories are short and simple, but so full of heart. Some have made me cry, others have made me pray for forgiveness, some to thank God for my blessings and others, to simply praise our Lord for His mercies and the beauty of our nature, which He constantly uses to communicate with us ALL the time, and if we were to pay close attention, we could actually hear Him speak to us through all its natural beauty.
Each of the stories will leave the reader with a feeling of gratitude, and with the desire to live a more faithful Christian life, filled with prayer and the security of hope and belief in God’s sweet and desirable promises. Whether the reader is a mother, a wife, a health care professional, or even all, this devotional would be a nice addition to bible study and spiritual growth for any woman while desiring to live a healthy lifestyle for Jesus. As 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 states: “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” (ESV)
May you have a blissful week, walking in communion with God in every step you take.
