As a working mom, you are already quite busy, and if you also homeschool, then it’s for sure you have double the work, and need double the energy, and double the motivation to accomplish the daily to-do’s. We can only obtain the inspiration and strength from Christ, because only He can give us the calmness and contentment to go along our daily responsibilities.
1) Wake up earlier
It might be a challenge, but you can begin with 15 minutes earlier than your usual time, and then increase it by a few minutes depending on how much you plan to spend in daily study. I highly recommend to do daily Bible study in the morning because it will give you the power and spiritual strength to conquer your day. It will positively improve your productivity.
2) Acquire a Bible with a devotional incorporated
I recommend using a Bible that has a devotional incorporated. It is more practical and convenient, easy to carry and easier for you to look up your verses as you read the devotional. I really like my NIV Homeschool Mom’s Bible. It is a great spiritual encouragement with home education anecdotes and analogies. This is my second year with it, and I’m still loving it. But it doesn’t need to be a homeschool associated one, you may also be able to get a Women’s Bible Devotional. Below are some recommended ones:
3) Utilize a Bible study guide
You may find that simply opening the Bible and just reading through it might leave you a little bit confused. First when we grab the Bible to study, we need to pray that our Lord guides us through it and that the Holy Spirit opens our heart to adopting the knowledge and truths being taught in it. It is certainly more productive to follow a guide to lead you into a specific topic to focus your study on which will in return increase your understanding. You will soon have more knowledge and be able to apply those concepts learned into your daily life. An excellent study guide to utilize as you read your Bible in a year, is “The Story of Redemption” by The Daily Grace Co. It is a set of four volumes to guide you through the reading of the whole Bible. You can by each volume separately (Volume I, Volume II, Volume III, and Volume IV) or as a set.
4) Use a notebook
It is helpful for writing your understanding, summary, bible verse to memorize, and an inspiration from your study. When you write an idea, a goal, or a dream, it sort of communicates easier with your brain, because you are not just thinking about it, you are incorporating several senses to help you understand it and embed it in your heart.
5) Repeat process every day
To be able to build a relationship with God and to grow spiritually, you need dedicated time with God. Repeating this process every day, will help you build a habit that will make you better equipped and prepared to embrace any sudden changes and/or challenges that you may face throughout the day.
Trust in God, try these tips, and you will see how you can easily make time to spend with Him.
