The excitement of crushing my January reading goals kept me motivated to continue reading throughout February, nevertheless, I did not read six books (you got to admit, that was surprising even for me), I read three, and I’m finishing the fourth one this week, and I still consider that I crushed my reading goals. Now, if I really want to achieve my goal of reading fifty books this year, I actually would have to read four books a month. We will see how it goes. Regardless of the outcome, I have achieved a lot more than before as far as reading goes. I’m not reading for the sake of it, in the contrary, I’m reading titles that are interesting, and that I consider beneficial and that would give me a positive impact in my life. What use would it be if I were not to practice any of the excellent information learned? I’m seriously placing into action practices recommended in the books I read. It sure takes time to develop habits, but with consistency, it is a possible goal. Now let’s drink some coffee together while I tell you about the books I read in February.
On Improving Marriage
First of all, “The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts” , is such an excellent tool to make your marriage improve 100%. I’m beginning to implement the advices presented by Mr. Chapman because I really want to better my love life with my husband. Marriage is so important in society, and as such, we have to do our best to take care of it, to nurture it and to be committed unselfishly.
On Improving Home
“The Life Giving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming” is an absolute inspiration to creating a God loving environment with the effect of dedication and love towards your family members, especially in creating an environment of love for God and to each other as well as creating good memories for your children to treasure for years to come, that they can even carry on as they grow into adulthood. Mother and daughter proved me how doing this service of love, of making a home welcoming and warm, can be so enjoyable. I love the Clarkson’s testimony and traditions and I really want to make my house a home of love and belonging.
On Getting Rid of the Things that Hold Us Down
As I read Cait’s testimony in “The Year of Less”, on how she beat debt, vices, and found the real value in life by getting rid of most of her possessions, it conveyed a visualization of how easily one gets trap in the materialistic nature that our society thrives on. Left me thinking deeply about the things that might be holding me back to maturing into a better version of who I am.
On Making Passion a Profitable Business
In “Crush It!”. The highlight of the book was the emphasis on “your family comes first”. It guides you on how to make your passion a job that you will love by providing ideas on working social media as a means to help your passion grow. I learned of the importance of being present in social media and actually how representing the true you can help you in growing your passion by investing time and resources, while gradually growing a business , but yet, always keeping in mind that family comes first.
I am slowly reading through the Bible in one year (symbolically, because it will probably take me longer) with The Daily Grace Co. plan along with their devotionals. I’m currently on Volume I of “The Story of Redemption”.
What a win! I enjoyed my February readings very much, and I’m looking forward to the ones in March. Are you following a reading plan? Which books are you reading?
