Unbelievable… Time has flown! Not too long ago I was swaddling my baby in my arms, learning to nurse her…then I had two more babies, and the next big epiphany: Homeschooling!!
It feels like yesterday that I decided to home educate my kids. Now I’m so happy and feel so proud, that all the hard work of the past couple of years have come down to celebrate our first celebration: Kindergarten graduation!!! Yay!!!
First, I’m thrilled that we concluded our first year with Classical Conversations. It has been an exceptional community, where I have began meaningful friendships with other moms, and where I have been inspired to be of more help and support to others who share this path. I felt so happy when Estefania received from her tutor, the certificate of completion with her character trait of “Caring”. Then to see her participate with the rest of the kids in singing the timeline song. How sweet…
Second, we were able to celebrate with a beautiful and touching Kindergarten graduation ceremony through CHEF (Christian Home Educators Fellowship). All the moms, of course, worked on the planning of the event, and it came out beautiful. I feel so blessed to be part of such a great supporting community.
As parents and teachers of our daughter, my husband and I got to award her with the character trait of “Kindness: a pleasant disposition, and concern for others” and her certificate of completion of Kindergarten. What an honor I felt!! I felt so proud and emotional, when I moved her tassel from her right side to the left on her cap.
This event, or better yet, milestone in her journey, has left me quite motivated to do my best. To continue educating her and her siblings as best as I can with love, patience and dedication, and above all, with God surrounding us in every activity that we set to do.
Its has inspired me to better educate myself, to prepare and learn as much as I can so that we can continue growing as a family, and enjoying this lifestyle of constant learning in all aspects of our lives. My prayer is for God to continue giving us, their parents, the health, the strength, and the means to provide the education they need and for them, our kids, to have the disposition to learn.
I’m looking forward, with God’s will, to many more milestones!
